What is the Gallbladder?
-First of all, the gallbladder is a cyst in the form of a vesicle below the liver on the upper right side of the abdomen. The gallbladder is connected to the main biliary channel (bile duct) that connects the bile extract from the liver to the intestines. The gallbladder stores the bile and contracts while eating to provide the intestines with the bile that helps to digest fats.

-After Bariatric surgeries, the appearance of gallstones may occur, which requires treatment with medications or surgery as a result of the large weight loss. Hence, we recommend continuous follow-up with your doctor after getting rid of obesity and informing him of any symptoms that appear on the patient for early treatment.

-When choosing the Doctor who performs the Bariatric surgery for you, you must choose a doctor with extensive knowledge and long experience in general surgery to behave well during the surgery if another health problem appears as problems of the gallbladder. As in many cases of obese patients, surgical intervention in the gallbladder is a must together with the bariatric surgery as well.
